With the goal of realizing a sustainable society among ASEAN nations through innovations in science and technology, we recognize outstanding research and development that contribute to the attainment of SDGs.
The Hitachi Global Foundation Asia Innovation Award is an award program launched in 2020 to promote science, technology, and innovation that contributes to solving societal issues and realizing a sustainable society in the ASEAN region. This award recognizes individuals and groups that undeniably served public interests through their outstanding achievements in research and development (R&D) in the fields of science and technology, including their visions of an ideal future society and social implementation plans for R&D as a means of achieving the UN's SDGs.
Applicants submit research outcomes that contribute to one SDG goal and one target of their choice. They also submit a social implementation plan for their achievements describing their social vision for their country or the ASEAN region.
This award is not open to public applications and is conducted through selected universities and research institutions in designated ASEAN countries.
Eligibility is limited to researchers, faculty members, and students affiliated with these institutions. Applications from companies, NGOs, and other organizations are not eligible.
